Certified consultants' attempts at cultural inclusiveness: An examination of four tales through the lens of the International Society of Sport Psychology Position Stand on Cultural Competence

Cultural competence within the field of applied sport psychology consulting is an important yet under emphasised topic. No sport psychology certification to present day includes a comprehensive module of how to augment cultural competence within the practitioner, though we are aware of discussions relating to this topic by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, in relation to their certification. Within this manuscript, four of the authors delve into their own tales as sport psychology consultants who have struggled with diversity in their practice and evaluate their attempts at culturally competent practice.
