The Changes of Side Branches after Different Drug Eluting Stents Implantation

2008
Purpose: To evaluate the changes of the side branches covered by different DESs.Materials and Methods: Two hundred and fifty seven patients who had 1.5~3.0mm side branches crossed by drug eluting stents were included in this study. All patients had follow up angiograms. The angiograms before, immediately after stenting and at follow-up were analyzed retrospectively. Results: The aggravated rate and no-change rate of side branches' ostium after Cypher,Taxus,Firebird,Partner,Excel and Endeavor stents were similar immediately after stenting and follow up(P0.05).There were 5.0% side branches occluded after stenting,71.4% occluded side branches recanalized at follow up.Only the side branches with ostial stenosis and origin within main vessel lesion was in risk of occlusion. Conclusions: The changes of side branches after six different DES are similar.Side branches with ostial stenosis and origin within lesion are in risk of occlusion when crossed by stent.
