Роль процессов свободно-радикального окисления и антиоксидантной защиты в оценке адаптационных реакций организма при пиелонефрите у детей

The chemiluminescence (CS) method of urine, serum and whole blood was used to study adaptive reactions of 90 children with pyelonephritis. The study revealed the prevalence of high values of the CS urine and blood parameters in the active phase of microbial-inflammatory process in the urinary system. Opposite changes of CS serum and whole blood were found for some of the patients, mostly with chronic pathological process. We have believed that this may be due to stress adaptation mechanisms and be one of the reasons for the protracted course of pyelonephritis. A higher percentage of chronic disease was detected in this group. We have proposed to study the state of the system of free-radical oxidation and antioxidant protection at the local and general level to determine the nature of the disease and correction of the therapy in the future.
