Molecular characterization of a transcriptionally active Ty1/copia-like retrotransposon in Gossypium

Key message A transcriptionally active Ty1/ copia -like retrotransposon was identified in the genome of Gossypium barbadense . The different heat activation of this element was observed in two tetraploid cotton species.
