Water-driven segmental cooperativity in polyvinyl butyral

• Measurements of thermogravimetry, mechanical and dielectric analysis have been performed in polyvinyl butyral (PVB) to investigate the effect of absorbed water on relaxation dynamics. The influence of water on the state of hydrogen bonds in PVB was also investigated by analyzing the evolution of the infrared band associated to O-H stretching.
