Fullerene Aziridine. Facile Synthesis and Spectral Characterization of Fullerene Urethane, C60NCO2CH2CH3

A fullerene urethane, C60NCO2CH2CH3, was obtained by a one-pot reaction from C60, NaN3, ClCO2CH2CH3, and 15-crown-5 ether in refluxing toluene. The structure of the product was spectroscopically determined as a closed aziridine at a 6/6-ring junction.
