Study on Characteristics of TCM Syndrome of Reflux Esophagitis

Objective: To study the characteristics of TCM syndrome of reflux esophagitis and to provide the basis for clinical treatment.Method: The information of 305 patients with reflux esophagitis was collected,then their clinical primary symptoms,minor symptoms and accompanying symptoms were analysed,and the location of the disease,characteristic of disease and the characteristic of pathogenesis were summarised and researched.Result: Heartburn,pantothenic acid,substernal burning or pain,nausea and other reflux symtoms were commom in reflux esophagitis,and there was higher incidence of abdominal distension,belching,stomach pain or bitter taste in the mouth.Most of the syndromes were the excess syndromes,such as Qi stagnation and heat accumlation,and the deficiency syndrome was scare.The most commmon syndrome of reflux esophagitis was the accumulation of stagnated heat in liver and stomach,followed by the weakness of spleen and stomach and Qi depression with phlegm obstruction was the least.Conclusion:The TCM syndromes of reflux esophagitis mostly are Qi stagnation and heat accumulation,and the main pathogenesis is the disturbance of liver Qi and the ascent of stomach Qi.
