Youth report 1997
1998
Original title: Rapportage Jeugd 1997.
At the request of the Dutch Ministry
of Health, Welfare and Sport, the Netherlands Institute for Social Research/SCP
reports periodically on different groups in Dutch society, such as the elderly,
the disabled and the young. Reports are also published regularly on ethnic
minorities and women. This is the second Report on the Young. Unlike
its predecessor from 1994, which gave a general portrayal of young people on
the basis of a number of indicators, this study focuses on one specific group,
namely young people with problems. The following topics are
discussed:
· problems of young
people in the family/education/the labour market
· problem behaviour by
young people (internalised and externalised)
· the help available from
youth welfare services
· curative and preventive
youth policy.
