Interventional Investigation of International Indicators for Rational Drugs Use in Occupational Disease Hospital

OBJECTIVE:To explore the patterns of promoting rational drug use in occupational disease hospital.METHODS:In a certain occupational disease hospital,prescriptions of 3 months and patients in 3 days were collected respectively in 2010 and 2011 years,and relevant indicators were investigated and analyzed statistically before and after intervention.RESULTS:Before and after the intervention,the average number of drugs per encounter reduced from 2.37 to 2.24(P0.05),the percentage of antibiotic prescribed reduced from 48.90% to 46.00%,the percentage of injection prescribed reduced from 33.80% to 30.70%,the percentage of drugs prescribed from the National Essential Drug List rose from 49.20% to 64.20%(P0.01),the percentage of drugs dispensary rose from 97.00% to 100.00%,the percentage of drugs labeled adequately rose from 89.20% to 100.00%(P0.01),and the percentage of patient's knowledge on correct drug use rose from 91.30% to 96.70%.CONCLUSION:It's feasible and effectual to promote rational drug use in occupational disease hospital by propaganda and education,system improvement,supervision and management,etc.
