The present invention relates to a device for solar drinking water production from sea water or brackish water. This device consists of a closed on all sides, highly thermally isolated and prepared in an inclined position housing (2), facing the sun whose front surface (13) is closed by a transparent pane. In the housing (2) is located an evaporation surface (3) that divides the housing interior into an upper evaporation chamber (4) and a lower condensation chamber (5). The evaporation chamber (4) and the condensing chamber (5) are provided at the upper and lower end of the evaporation surface (3) on the flow side in conjunction, so that the enclosed air masses can circulate in the housing. At the lower end of the evaporation surface (3) a brine tank (6) is arranged, the dripping from the evaporation surface (3), brine (14) fields, being provided, the brine tank (6) with an overflow (7). is arranged at the lower end of the condensation chamber (5) in which at least a first capacitor (9), there is a water drain (8).
