Die Uni ist kein Ponyhof : Zur psychosozialen Situation von Studierenden (Schwerpunkt)

2010
BackgroundTraditionally, the study phase has been regarded as a biographical transition period that confronts young people with complex challenges to their personal development. The implementation of the bachelor/master system at German universities has increased the psychological instability of students. This observation is supported by the results of current research on perceived psychological stress among students. AimsOn the basis of this research and of practical experience from counselling contexts, new impulses for psychological or psychotherapeutic counselling are outlined.ConclusionsPsychological counselling institutions have to widen their scope both in the field of primary prevention as well as in the field of focused coaching in order to react appropriately to the changed problems, symptoms and needs of student clientele.
