Electron Energy Distribution Functions of Surface Wave Produced Radio Frequency and Microwave Plasmas

The electron energy distribution function of surface wave produced plasmas is investigated theoretically by the self‐consistent numerical solution of the Boltzmann equation and experimentally by a Langmuir probe technique. Various influences modifying the distribution function such as Coulomb collisions and excited atoms are studied and their relevance for the experimental results is discussed.
