Common Path Digital Holographic Microscopy Using Electrically Tunable Lens

2021
A common path lateral shearing Digital Holographic Microscopy (DHM) is proposed using Electrically Tunable Lens (ETL). The proposed methodology aims at providing volumetric phase contrast images of a transparent sample under test. The ETL is positioned at the back aperture of microscope objective (MO) to provide 3-D images at varying depths without the usage of mechanical z-scanning. The quantitative results show the reconstructed images of Red Blood Cells (RBCs) at different axial distances and account for the feasibility of the proposed method. An axial range of 5–77.5 μm is achieved by using the proposed method.
