The invention discloses an activation method of a household electrical appliance, which comprises the steps that an internet of things server receives a household electrical appliance serial number sent by the household electrical appliance according to an activation instruction of a terminal; the internet of things server binds the terminal and the household electrical appliance; the internet of things server generates an equipment identifier of the household electrical appliance and sends the equipment identifier to the terminal and the household electrical appliance, thereby enabling the terminal and the household electrical appliance to carry out synchronization according to the equipment identifier; and the internet of things server generates configuration information of the household electrical appliance, and sends activation success information to the terminal and the household electrical appliance. According to the method disclosed by the embodiment of the invention, cloud service and management carried out on the activated household electrical appliance are realized through a mode of carrying out registration and activation on the household electrical appliance through the internet of things, and the user experience is improved.
