Thispaper describes astrategy that integrates thetask mappingandtask scheduling steps forheuristic search techniques, withmultiple neighbourhood functions toreduce search time andenchance solution quality indeveloping heterogeneous computing systems. Forcasestudies involving 40randomly generated task graphs andthefast Fourier transform, experimental results showthat ourapproach outperfroms previous approaches intermsofsearch timebyupto93times, and solution quality byupto22.6%forasystem withamicroprocessor, afloating-point digital signal processor, andan FPGA.
