Observation the visual fuction of patients with anisometropia after cataract extraction combined single focus intraocular lens implantation.

2008
Objective To evaluate the feasibility of monovision concept in cataract surgery for elder peeple. Methods 42 patients have anisometropia after cataract extraction combined single focus intraocular lens(IOLs) implantation were choosed. They were divided into three groups accoriding to anisometropic degree. The far and near vision, contrast sensitivity and stereoscopic vision were checked. As a control group,Those patients were corrected in both of the eyes by glasses. The data carries on statistics processing. Results Group 1(the power of anisometropia 1.00D):there was no difference in vision, low frequence contrast sensitivity, stereoscopic vision when compared with the control group.Group 2(the power of anisometropia was 1.00D~1.75D):When compared with the control group, the vision was similar. But the contrast sensitivity and stereoscopic vision were lower than the control group. Group 3(the power of anisometropic ≥2.00D):The vision, contrast sensitivity and stereoscopic vision were all lower than the control group. The larger the power of anisometropia, the lower the contrast sensitivity and the stereoscopic vision. Conclusion For the patient with senial cataract that do not need fine work, long time near distance reading,or driving at night, monovision concept could be applied in the design of cataract surgery. It could make convenience for patients by guaranteeing them both far vision and near vision without glasses.
