Fostering Employee Creativity with Human Resource Management-the Componential Perspectives

Employees' creativity is needed for organizations to innovate, survive and profit in competitive environments. Individual creativity is influenced by expertise, creative thinking skill and intrinsic motivation as described in Amabile's ”Componential Theory of Individual Creativity”. Based on a literature review, this study described how the working environment impact the three components addressed by Amabile's individual creativity theory, and how human resource management practice can enhance employee's creativity.
