Experimental Investigation of Discharge Characteristic of Graphite Heater Electrode

2013
Experiments were conducted to study the relation of firing voltage to the surface temperature, pressure, distance, material, and gas component in environment. The result showed that the firing voltage decreases obviously with the increasing of surface temperature;the firing voltage firstly decreases then increases in the pressure range of 10-2~103 Pa with a minimum firing voltage of Ub,min;at the right side of Ub,min, the firing voltage increases with increasing distance;at the other side, the firing voltage decreases with increasing distance;the firing voltage of electrodes in air is higher than it in N2;the firing voltage of electrodes made in graphite, molybdenum or copper decreases in turn.
