THREE CASES OF BREAST CANCER AFTER AUGMENTATION MAMMAPLASTY

Three rare cases of breast cancer after augmentation mammaplasty are reported. Case 1 was a 43-year-old woman undergone an augmentation mammaplasty. Her silicon bag ruptured by an injury 11 years after the mammaplasty. Then, she repeatedly underwent biopsy and eventually, she was diagnosed as having a breast cancer three years later. Partial mastectomy with axillary dissection and latissimus dorsi musclocutaneous flap was performed. Case 2 was 56-year-old woman. She was seen at the hospital because of a axillary lymph node swelling and ulceration 24 years after augmentation mammaplasty. She had an advanced breast cancer with bone metastasis, and underwent bilateral mastectomy with axillary dissection after preoperative chemotherapy. Case 3 was a 66-year-old woman. She was seen at the hospital because of a swelling of the left breast 28 years after augmentation mammaplasty. She underwent biopsy and was diagnosed as having a breast cancer. Mastectomy with axillary dissection was done. Breast cancer after sugmentation mammaplsty are seldom and 37 cases including these three cases have been reported in the Japanese literature.
