Utilization of a dilacerated incisor tooth as its own space maintainer

Abstract The case of a young boy is presented in whom a dilacerated central incisor was surgically removed and the reduced space for this tooth in the arch opened orthodontically. The crown of the excised deformed tooth was bonded to the two adjacent teeth by means of the acid-etch technique.
