The influence of external factors on biomass and salidroside content in hairy roots of Rhodiola sachalinensis induced by Agrobacterium rhizogenes

2010
Hairy roots of Rhodiola sachalinensis A.Bor were induced by Agrobacterium rhizogenes stains A4, 15834, R1601, R1000. These hairy roots can add new perspectives on the prospects and challenges of producing Salidroside, which has been identified as the major compounds from the roots of Rhodiola sachalinensis A.Bor. For high salidroside production, the optimal light intensity, pH value and Nitrogen enhanced biomass accumulation and salidroside production. The 1000xl scatter light, PH 4.5∼4.8, and Nitrogen (NH 4 + ∶ NO 3 − =1∶1) concentration (80 mmol/l) is the the optimal condition, respectively.
