DEVELOPMENT OF A SHIP MONITORING' PROGRAMME BY A SHIP OF THE TYRRHENNIAN FLEET

An introduction to the paper outlines the principles and methodology of a Ship Monitoring' programme developed by CETENA. A brief description is given of the CONSMETER system for measurement of ship speed and monitoring of hull and propeller condition. The results of an experimental evaluation of the CONSMETER system aboard the M/T Emilia of the Tyrrhenian Fleet are presented and briefly discussed.
