QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION OF DEFECTS BY MAGNETIC LEAKAGE FLUX TESTING USING A SENSOR COMPOSED OF MULTIPLE MAGNETIC ELEMENTS

SUMMARY A change of sensor lift-off distance and the oblique angle of surface defects cause the uncertainty in estimating the defect size. This paper reports that a sensor composed of two Hall elements is useful to clear away these difficulties.
