RL MODEL ALGORITHM-BASED FAULT LOCATION FOR DC DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS

A fault location algorithm is proposed to guarantee the reliable operation of DC distribution based on voltage source converter (VSC). The overviews of DC distribution topology and its fault characteristics are presented. The feasibility of R-L model algorithm for DC distribution networks is analyzed. A double-terminal fault location algorithm is proposed to deal with the fault resistance. The results of simulation verify the feasibility of proposed method. With the 15 ms of fault records, the proposed method can accurately locate the fault point and the relative error is within 0.05%. The proposed method is immune from the fault resistance.
