Les vicissitudes du « roman-fleuve » en Corée

2020
This article tries to define taeha sos˘ol, a form of novel developed in Korea. Largely unknown outside Korea, this genre literally means « great-river novel. » Although this genre encompasses both pre-modern and modern works, this study focusses on modern works which, in this tradition, exhibit two of the most important characteristics of Korean literature : their close connection to the nation’s history and serialization as a publishingmode. The specificities of this genre can be better understood through its comparison with the French genre of the roman-fleuve.
