IN SITU MARINE SEDIMENT PROBE AND CORING ASSEMBLY

Abstract : A hydrostatically anchored four-probe assembly with a centrally located slow-penetrating corer measures the thermal and acoustic properties of sediments during incremental penetrations to 5 ft in water depths to 5000 ft. This deep ocean sediment probe can function from submersibles or surface vessels.
