New technique for precise measurement of fine-pitch involute gear integrated errors

A new gear measuring technique called "Differential Single Flank Point Roll-Scanning"was proposed. During the measurement,the target fine-pitch gear and master gear are driven synchronously by two NC motors respectively,but are kept rolling with single-flank contacted. A differential variation of the circumference location between the measured gear and the angular encoder fixed co -axially is allowed. By measuring the differential variation,the gear integrated errors of fine-pitch gear can be obtained. Using gear integrated errors,elementary geometrical errors and composite transmission errors of the fine-pitch gears can be measured in batch.
