Solitary Fibrous Tumor Arising From The Prostatic Capsule

2002
Solitary fibrous tumors were originally believed to be of mesothelial origin and were commonly recognized at the parietal pleura. However, these tumors are now known to originate from a CD34 positive dendritic interstitial cell that is ubiquitously distributed. 3 To our knowledge we report the first case of solitary fibrous tumor arising from the prostatic capsule and developing as a large mass in the pelvis.
