Motor control for forklifts

2011
describes a motor controller for a forklift truck, with a good operability to ensure low consumption, even when the vehicle or accelerator pedal (low load and light driving load) is fully depressed in the unloaded or lightly loaded condition, but on the other hand, when heavily loaded, the maximum lifting speed and travel speed to be reached without acceleration problem. To this end, at least two maximum torque curves are specified with different torque values in the engine torque curve chart in advance. In addition, a measuring device detects the weight of cultivation and loaded cargo. Furthermore, a threshold is used to select one of the at least two maximum torque curves determined, the torque curve is selected with a smaller maximum torque value when the signal detected by the measuring device weight is less than the threshold value, and the torque curve having a larger maximum torque value is selected if captured by the weight measuring means is equal to or greater than the threshold. With the selected torque curve of the motor is then controlled accordingly.
