Pathologic Interpretation of the Ultrasonic Specimen

The technique of ultrasonic aspiration for anatomic surgical dissection, tissue excision, and ablation is not new. To date, experience has documented the efficacy of ultrasonic surgical procedures and the effects of ultrasonic energy on tissue. This knowledge will guide therapy and avert adverse effects by providing a model to predict tissue trauma.
