Autoanticuerpos en pacientes hematológicos tratados con interferón alfa

Se estudio la presencia de autoanticuerpos en 45 pacientes con enfermedades hematologicas: 32 con leucemia mieloide cronica (LMC) y 13 con otras enfermedades linfoproliferativas (ELP). Todos los pacientes con ELP y 20 con LMC recibieron tratamiento con interferon alfa (IFN) natural o recombinante alfa 2b en el momento del estudio. La duracion media del tratamiento fue de 27 meses (1-96) y la dosis media administrada fue de 3 millones, 3 veces a la semana. Se detectaron autoanticuerpos eritrocitarios en 16 pacientes (80 %) con LMC tratados con IFN. No se detectaron autoanticuerpos eritrocitarios en 4 pacientes que recibieron tratamiento con IFN ni en el grupo de pacientes no tratados. En 5 pacientes (26 %) que recibian tratamiento con IFN y en 2 pacientes (12 %) sin tratamiento se detectaron otros autoanticuerpos. En los pacientes con autoanticuerpos en 3 pacientes (23 %) y anticuerpos antiparietales no hubo manifestaciones de anemia hemolitica autoinmune (AHAI) o de otras enfermedades autoinmunes. En los pacientes con ELP se detectaron autoanticuerpos en 3 pacientes (23 %) y autoanticuerpos antiparietales y antinucleares en 2 (14,3 %). En una paciente con enfermedad de Hodgkin se diagnostico una AHAI a las 10 semanas de tratamiento con IFN.(AU) Presence of autoantibodies in 45 patients with hematologic diseases was studied: 32 cases of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and 13 cases of other lymphoproliferative diseases (LPD). All cases of LPD and other 20 of CML, were treated with natural Alpha-interferon (IFN) or recombinant Alpha 2b, when study was performed. Mean length of treatment was of 27 months (1-96), and mean dosis given was of 3 millions, three times a week. Erythrocitic autoantibodies were found in 16 cases (80%) where CML was treated with IFN, but neither in 4 patients given IFN nor in non treated patients groups. In 5 cases (26%) given IFN, and in other two (12%), without treatment, other types of autoantibody were found. In cases with autoantibodies there weren´t manifestations of autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AHA) or of other autoimmune diseases. In cases with LPD, we found autoantibodies and antinuclear in 2 (14,3%). In a case of Hodgkin´s disease, AHA was diagnosed within 10 weeks of IFN-treatment.(AU)
