Pulse Stretcher Diagnostics by Camera and Color Filters

2010
A new diagnostic method for dispersive optical systems is proposed. The method utilizes a camera with color filters creating a 2D‐imaging spectrometer. By imaging of the filters onto the camera, the distortion of the relative positions of the spectral images caused by arbitrary optical wedges of the filters decreased 10 times and an uncertainty of the measurement of angular dispersion reached 10 μrad. By the measurement of the angular dispersion at the output of a pulse stretcher, we aligned a 50‐cm distance of telescope spherical mirrors in the pulse stretcher with an uncertainty of 15 μm (a relative uncertainty of 3.10−4).
