Beach Nourishment on Coral Reef Coast and Resulting Beach Changes

Beach conservation project was carried out at Sanur, Nusa Dua and Kuta Beaches, which are the worldfamous resorts in Bali Island, Indonesia, to recover the natural coral sandy beaches. Beach nourishment was conducted together with the construction of groins, headlands and offshore islands. The design and construction method for this project are discussed. The monitoring survey of the shoreline has been carried out for more than three years after the nourishment at Sanur and Nusa Dua Beaches. It was observed that the nourished beaches have almost reached a stable condition several months after its nourishment.
