Bimetallic compound strand cable for power transmission

2008
The utility model relates to a wire bimetallic compound strand cable for power transmission, in particular to coastal humid areas and heavy industrial pollutant areas, and comprises an inner core and an outer strand layer. The inner core is composed of at least one copper-clad steel wire and the outer strand layer is formed by a plurality of copper-clad aluminum wires twisted on the inner core. The wire bimetallic compound strand cable integrates high tensile strength of steel, high electric conductivity of copper, high corrosion resistance, low density of aluminum and low price into one body. More particularly contacting interfaces of strand cables are copper, which avoids the contacting electric double corrosion, largely enhances the entire resistance to corrosion, eliminates the difference of inner layers and outer layers of original electric wires and greatly extends the service life of the whole strand wires.
