SOBRE ATIVIDADE/EXERCÍCIO FÍSICA/O EM IDOSOS: UM ESTUDO DO ESTILO DE VIDA DE PARTICIPANTES DO PROJETO VATI (VIDA ATIVA NA TERCEIRA IDADE) EM CÁCERES-MT

2016
The present study had the objectives to verify how the benefits derived from the participation of the elderly in the Active Life Project in the Third Age are evidenced and to analyze the profile of the lifestyle in relation to the quality of life, considering five essential social factors related to well-being: nutrition, physical activity, preventive behavior, social relationships, and stress management. The study was carried out through qualitative and quantitative descriptive research. Twentytwo elderly, 4 males and 18 females, aged over 60 years, were evaluated. In the data collection, a questionnaire was used on the individual lifestyle profile developed by Nahas, Barros and Francalacci (2000). For the data analysis, the Microsoft Excel® program was used, where the data were tabulated and exposed as graphs. From the answers collected, it was observed that there were lower percentages only in the nutrition component, while the highest indexes were found in the following components: physical activity, preventive behavior, social relationship and stress control. Considering the presented scenario, it is considered, through the collected data, that the participants of the research presented good results in relation to the components, being necessary to have only some changes; they should change their lifestyle in pursuit of healthier eating habits, as some have shown lower indices in this component.
