Three Dimensional Modelling of a Mediterranean Bay

A three dimensional computation of a Mediterranean Bay is presented. The numerical procedure does not consider the hydrostatic hypothesis and introduces a two equations closure model for turbulence (к – e model). Application to the real configuration of the Cannes Bay involves the description of the dynamic and thermal fields, featuring recirculation and upwelling zones, and focuses on the importance of the open sea boundary conditions.
