Methods of developing a core collection for Zhejiang traditional indica rice (Oryza sativa L. subsp. indica Kato) germplasm

The main objective of this study was to evaluate selection procedures for designation of a core collection of rice germplasm collections. Ten methods of assembling a core collection from a collection of 480 Zhejiang traditional indica accessions were adopted and evaluated using seventeen quantitative and five qualitative traits. The other objective was to compare core collections with different sample size of the germplasm collection.
