Effect of low sintering temperature on the synthesis of BiFeO3

2021
Abstract The growth of single phase polycrystalline multiferroic BiFeO3 (BFO) with increasing sintering temperature has been studied. A new process of synthesis has been adopted to observe the effect of low sintering temperature on the formation of the desired material. The room temperature XRD reveals that the formation of BiFeO3 has started as early as 600 °C sintering temperature along with other phases. The room temperature FESEM of the sintered sample has shown the formation of grains separated by grain boundaries and voids. The Micro Raman Spectra of the sample also supports the observations made by the XRD data regarding the growth of BiFeO3 at 600 °C sintered sample.
