Aqueous electrodeposition paints, their use in processes for coating electrically conductive substrates, and the use of silver ions and / or elemental silver in aqueous electrodeposition coating materials

1996
The invention concerns an aqueous electrophoretic enamel based on aqueous binder solutions and/or dispersions containing elemental silver and/or silver ions. The invention is characterized in that the aqueous electrophoretic enamel contains less than 5 wt % organic solvents relative to the total weight thereof. The invention further concerns a process for producing the electrophoretic enamels, their use in processes for coating electrically conductive substrates, and the use of silver and/or silver ions as biocide in aqueous components used in electrophoretic coating processes.
