Choice of optimum tempering temperature for welded joints of steel 12GN3MFAYuDR based on the stresses determined by the X-ray method

1998
In welding and subsequent cooling the metal of the weld and the nearby zone experiences internal macro- and microscopic stresses. In welding of alloy steels in whose heat-affected zone a hardened structure (martensite and bainite) forms, a substantial contribution to the macrostresses is made by structural transformations. It is of interest to determine the tempering temperature at which these stresses relax rather fully.
