The present invention discloses a method for eddy current measurement and compensation for the magnetic resonance imaging system, characterized by comprising the steps of: (1) applying a gradient pulse of the sample using nuclear magnetic resonance imaging system; (2) using the 90 ° excitation pulse samples were collected after the free decay signal 90 ° excitation pulse is generated in the sample; (3) multi-exponential decay function fit the free time-series signals, to obtain the desired correction parameter; (4) to output the correction parameters eddy current compensation achieved spectrometer.
