The present invention discloses a method of preparing a rosin ester, said method comprising the steps of: (1) rosin into a reactor, under inert gas, heated to ~ 180 [deg.] C melting rosin 170.; (2) 130 to 200 ℃ rosin 0.5 to 8% by weight of the unsaturated acid, for 0.5 to 2 hours; (3) the weight of rosin in 180 ~ 230 ℃ 0.01 ~ 1% made of composite light L2011 agents and rosin 11 to 18% by weight of alcohol reaction at 180 ~ 285 ℃ 2 ~ 8 hours. after addition of saturated acid, and then reacted for 2 hours to remove the water of reaction in vacuo, cooled to 180 ~ 240 ℃, rosin weight of 0.1 to 0.6% stabilizer, i.e., obtained rosin ester. The preparation method of the present invention, the process is simple, low cost, may be prepared to give a pale color, good weather resistance, good yellowing resistance, good temperature rosin ester.
