Cancer Deaths in Dundee—a Comparative Study

2002
AbstractThere has been a widely-shared suggestion that Dundee was well below average in providing for patients to die at home. Figures for service provision for terminal cancer patients in various areas of Scotland are based on statistics provided by the Information and Statistics Division, Scotland (ISD). Some inconsistencies in the ISD data led to the subsequent reworking of data to a set formula. The data showed that differences in the percentage of people dying in non-domiciliary settings in mainland Health Board areas became virtually the same if NHS Hospitals and non-NHS institutional settings are considered together.
