Background Intra-abdominal adhesions are fibrous bands that develop after abdominal surgery or inflammation and cause significant surgical morbidity and mortality. In this study, the effectiveness of lidocaine, prilocaine and bupivacaine in preventing experimental intra-abdominal adhesions in rats was studied.
