Simulation and Modeling of DVR to Enhance Power Quality in Distribution Network

In the present scenario power quality is a significant parameter in distribution network. Due to maximum use of those devices which are highly sensitive to power quality affects the performance of end user equipments. There are various types of power quality issues in distribution network out of these issues voltage sag is one of prominent power quality issue consequently tripping of sensitive loads and also cause overheating of devices. To overcome power quality issues custom power devices are used in distribution network. In this study voltage sag is generated due to starting of three phase induction motor. To mitigate voltage sag DVR a custom power device is connected to distribution network. This work also proposed pulse width modulation control scheme to control the injection voltage by DVR. The propose control scheme with DVR have been tested in MATLAB/ Simulink software. This is considered as one of most significant and effective customized power device.
