The article deals with current etiology of anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease and assessment of the role of absolute and relative iron deficiency. It also focuses on the diagnosis of anemia and iron deficiency and the treatment of patients with pre-dialysis chronic kidney disease, program hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis with iron preparations.
