A amiz ade em Montaigne: transformações na experiência de pessoa no século XVI

This paper discusses the conception of friendship present in the Essais of Montaigne. It aims to show that this conception differs substantially from classical e renaissance conceptions, as manifested, respectively, in works of Cicero and La Boetie. The historical hypothesis suggested is that the above mentioned theoretical divergence reflects important transformations operated in the perceived traditional order and everyday experience by the civil wars of religion in sixteenth-century France.
