Millimeter-Wave End-Fire ME Dipole Array Antenna Fed by Integrated Substrate Gap Waveguide

2020
A new end-fire magneto-electric dipole array antenna fed by the integrated substrate gap waveguide (ISGW) is presented for wideband millimeter-wave application. The ME dipole element is vertically excited by an ISGW T-shaped microstrip line. The feeding network and the radiator part are vertically combined in space, which enables this antenna having the end-fire radiation properties. The simulated results show that the 10 dB impedance bandwidth of the array antenna is 29.2%, ranging from 21.5 to 29.1 GHz, with an average stable gain better than 14 dBi. Additionally, a good stable symmetrical radiation pattern is obtained.
