Extended emission around the variable radio star LSI +61 deg 303

1987
Continuum observations of a 2 deg field at 1420 MHz and a 7.4 deg field at 408 MHz have been made surrounding the periodic variable radio star LSI +61 deg 303. Extended radio emission was detected around the star. It is proposed that this emission is either (1) thermal gas from the giant H II complex of W3/W4/W5, (2) a supernova remnant whose progenitor is LSI +61 deg 303, or (3) a nonthermal nebula of the type recently discovered around Cir X-1 by Haynes et al. (1986). 38 references.
