The invention relates to a method for temperature-dependent selection (AW) of shut-down speeds (ASG) for shutdown (AV) in power semiconductors (5) which are arranged on a direct voltage intermediate circuit (2) of a converter (6), wherein a DC voltage (V Furthermore, a computing unit (7) for performing the method is provided as well as a driving device (1), which is designed to execute with the computing unit (7) the process. Also provided are the inverter (6) with a DC intermediate circuit (2), wherein the power semiconductor (5), the computing unit (7) and the control device (1), as well as an electric or hybrid vehicle (8) with the inverter (6) operated electrical machine (17).
